October 10, 1968 – Original owner took delivery of the US Specification VW Squareback he named “Bambi” from Volkswagenwerk, Aktiengsellschaft, Wolfsburg, Germany.

November 7, 1968 – Bambi was shipped to Toledo, Ohio, United States, via R.G. Hoblemann & Co.

March 12, 1971 – New 1971 1600cc, 65 bhp engine installed.

November 12, 1982 – Bambi received fiberglass front fenders in repair for MVA.

August 5, 1983 – Replacement of FI with twin carburetors and updated fuel pump.

September 13, 1997 – Repair and replaced outer and inner rockers, heater channels, floor edges with new paint and undercoating, new rear bumper.

March 14, 2016 – Interior restoration; replaced dash pad, outer right rear view mirror, both vent wing latches, inner scraper kit, felt channel, Oil pressure switch, horn, turn signal lenses, sunroof handle, emergency brake boot.

April 20, 2016 – New door panels with pockets, brown smooth vinyl, front and rear carpet, Oatmeal, updates to Super Beetle front seats.

April 27, 2016 – Full set seat upholstery, Sand Tweed.

June, 2017 – Engine rebuild, brake system overhaul, sunroof mechanism replacement.

March 1, 2000 – Welding and fabrication to restore from MVA, including removal of fenders, bumpers, interior and fuel tank.

April 20, 2000 – Restoration, window seals, door seals, hood and rear gate seal, fender beading, taillight seals, license light seal, sunroof seal, body moulding clips, headlight rings hood emblem total body repair and paint.

May 5, 2001 – Continued restoration, new front and rear bumper with bumper guards.

November 20, 2001 – Exterior restoration, total paint with new chrome trim rings, front and rear light bezels with seals and gaskets.

2017 to Date – Current owner replaced front fiberglass fenders with NOS steel and restored factory body color to Savana Beige. Side-marker stainless molding kits were added with amber marker lights along with chrome overriders for the rear bumper. New window seals all around, and trim were installed for the rear and front quarter windows along with the hatch backlight. Interior work includes a new headliner with sunroof section, door pillars and new windlace trim.
